These rules are mandatory and must be followed. Failure to comply with these rules will result in mandatory
suspensions of at least 3 games and carry the possibility of banishment if the violation harms the league or
its reputation.
1) DO NOT take the dugouts until after the team ahead of you has cleared out completely. For the first game of
the day, the dugouts and field will open for use 30 minutes prior to game time. As is the case on all fields,
only players and coaches are allowed on the field or in the dugouts. NO EXCEPTIONS (and no children)!
2) Warm-ups must be conducted no closer than 30 feet to the foul lines in the outfield. The player closest to
the lines should take at least 12 full strides from the foul line.
3) STAY OFF the grass in front of the dugouts (just like BCC). Use the track/paths only! This applies to
pre-game, during game, and post-game presence on the field. Obey rule #1 and you won't need to pile your
gear on the grass in front of the dugouts trying to get in or out. Batters take your warm up swings in the
circles, not the grass.
4) Pre-game infield practice is forbidden. No grounders on the infield, and no grounders in the outfield.
Outfielders may take fly balls in the outfield prior to the game.
5) The batting cages behind the workshop WILL BE AVAILABLE for us to use pre-game.
6) On days when car sales are in progress in the parking lot, you must park at the Foss High School lot (from
South 19th Street, turn right on Cheyenne St.). The groundskeeper will have the left field gate open for us to
use.
7) Outfielders, try not to stand around in the same spot. A couple of steps left or right, forward or backward
one inning to the next will help to avoid heavy wear on the grass. And DO NOT stand around kicking your
cleats into the outfield grass between pitches.
8) The groundskeeper will need half an hour between games to drag the infield and get the mound and
batters boxes ready for the next game. If he asks for help, smile and do what is asked, then ask if there is
anything else you can do to help.
9) Clean up the dugout before leaving, there will be garbage cans in each dugout.
10) If there are additional rules posted in the dugouts, follow them. If any member of the grounds crew askes
you to do something (or to stop doing something), follow orders. Without regard to the amount we are paying
for this field use, we do not own it. Failure to comply with any request by any member of the Cheney Stadium
groundskeeper staff will result in the offending player's banishment from this field and a minimum three game
suspension.
